Tinder Safety

Your safety comes first.

Meeting new people should feel exciting, not uncertain. Find tools and resources to help you stay in control, on and off Tinder.

Explore our approach to safety

Safety isn’t a feature.It’s our foundation.

Because when you feel safe to be yourself, the possibilities are endless.

Here’s how we show up at every step.

Our approach to safety

Face Check¹, Photo Verification, Share My Date, block, unmatch, and report — all close at hand. Built to help you stay in control at every step.

A few things worth knowing before date one.

Get a vibe check first.

Chat in the app while you get a better read. Only share your number, socials, or other personal details when it feels right.

Meet somewhere public first.

Pick a place with people around for the first hang. A coffee shop, a bar, a park.

Tell someone your plans.

Use Share My Date or let a friend know who you’re meeting, where you’re going, and when.

Keep your phone charged.

Make sure you can call, text, map, or head out if you need to.

Control how you get there and home.

Plan your own way there and back, so leaving is always your call.

Trust what you’re feeling.

If something feels off, listen to that. You can leave, block, unmatch, or report anytime.

A few more things worth knowing:

Get to know them on Tinder.

We use a combination of technology and human review to help keep conversations safer. Users with bad intentions often try to move things to text or another app quickly — that’s a signal worth paying attention to.

Traveling somewhere new?

If you’ve added your sexual orientation to your profile, we’ll automatically hide it in certain regions where it may not be safe. Once you leave, we’ll show it on your profile again.

Consent is ongoing.

Every experience on Tinder should be consensual from start to finish. If something doesn’t feel right at any point, trust that feeling.

Tinder is where meaningful connections happen.

Our community thrives when everyone feels welcome. That’s why we take our Community Guidelines seriously.

See something that shouldn’t be here? Report it.

Every report helps us keep Tinder safe for everyone.

Ok but.. why Tinder?

Tinder app showing the Double Date feature

With features like Double Date, Music Mode, Astrology Mode, Passport, Relationship Goals, and Photo Verification, Tinder continues to be the world's most popular dating app available in 190 countries, with over 55 billion matches made since we launched the swipe. Behind each of those matches is a real person. That's always been the point. It's where you go to meet people you wouldn't have met otherwise: a new crush, a travel companion, a slow burn that turns into something real. Whatever you're looking for, or not looking for yet, Tinder gives you the space to figure it out.

Create a profile, set your preferences, and start swiping. Like someone and they like you back, that's a match. From there it's yours. Send a message, plan something, see what happens. With features like Double Date, Music Mode, Passport, Chemistry, and more, Tinder is built for every kind of connection: casual, serious, or somewhere in between.
